Whitechapel Underground Station station

Whitechapel layers the District and Hammersmith & City lines, London Overground and the Elizabeth line in a constrained east London site. The rebuilt station uses a broad concourse to connect routes that arrived over more than a century.

Unusually, Overground trains run below Underground trains here, a reversal produced by the area’s railway history and topography.
