Name the Station is a free public transit explorer and browser game. Using the site means accepting the terms below.
What the service is
Name the Station lets everyone browse metro networks and play short map challenges without an account. Guest progress is tied to the browser and may be lost when cookies are cleared or another device is used. An account is required only to publish a leaderboard rank and sync progress. The service is provided free of charge and without any commitment to remain available.
It is not a travel planning tool
The maps and station pages describe networks as published by their operators, at the date of the dataset shown on each city page. They carry no timetables, no live service status and no route planning. Do not rely on them to catch a train — check the operator's own information.
Your account
Give accurate information when you sign up and keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time, and deleting it removes your data as described in the privacy policy.
Fair play
Play the games as they are meant to be played. Automating games, exploiting bugs to inflate a score, holding several accounts to occupy the rankings, or scraping the site at a rate that degrades it for others may lead to a score being voided or an account being suspended.
Content and rights
Transit data comes from official operator and government publications and remains subject to its own licences, which are listed on each city page along with the map attribution. Line names, logos and colours belong to their operators and are shown to identify a network, not as an endorsement. The rest of the site — its text, code and design — belongs to Name the Station.
Availability and changes
Cities, games and features may be added, placed under maintenance or withdrawn. Datasets are versioned, so a correction can change what a page shows. We may update these terms; the page always reflects the current version, and a substantial change will be announced in the changelog.
Liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or free of error. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, in particular towards consumers.
