日比谷駅

Hibiya Station was built in stages beneath the district that lies between the Imperial Palace, Hibiya Park, and Yurakucho. The Hibiya line opened here in 1964, followed by the Chiyoda line in 1971 and the Mita line in 1972. The three networks are linked by a set of passages serving theaters, hotels, offices, and cultural institutions. The station is also connected to the vast underground network of Yurakucho and Ginza. This position gives it a discreet but strategic role: Hibiya distributes travelers among three subway axes while providing access to a district where the imperial landscape, major facilities, and cultural life coexist.

Since 2018, Tokyo Metro has officially recognized the transfer between Hibiya and Yurakucho. The two names remain distinct, but travelers can now follow the underground passages and make the change on a single fare.
